Hello friends,
I made this email for 2 reasons:
When Arnold said high-volume training is the best…
He didn’t mean it for everyone.
Let me explain!
We know that more sets = more stimulus.
And if we recover from that stimulus, our muscles will grow more.
But here’s the thing…
Not everyone can recover from 30 sets of bicep curls.
Take a beginner, for example.
A guy who just stepped into the gym on his first day.
Would you tell him to do 20 sets of curls?
Of course not.
You’d tell him to do 1–2 sets first, right?
Even Arnold said in his book that beginners should start with low volume…
Then increase little by little.
Because here’s the truth…
If recovery had no limit, bodybuilders would do 100 sets per week.
But they don’t.
Because they know there’s a limit to how much stimulus they can recover from.
And this is where the debate starts.
HIT fans say 1 set is enough.
But as we know…
99% of people can recover from just 1 set.
The proof?
Try it yourself.
Do 1 set of bench press.
In 2–3 days, you’ll recover.
And if that’s not enough…
Look at natural bodybuilding champions.
Most of them train with high volume.
So the real question is…
How many sets is your limit?
For Arnold, it’s different for each person.
And even your limit today will be different from your limit one year from now.
Because as you get more advanced…
You recover faster.
This is why Arnold’s approach is different.
He started with low volume…
Then built his body so he could handle more.
And here’s how you can do it:
Start with 2 exercises per muscle.
Do 2 sets each.
Then every month…
Add 2–4 sets to your total routine.
It can be extra sets or extra exercises.
For example:
This month (chest):
Next month:
(And you can add the remaining sets to another muscle group.)
This way, your body adapts to more stimulus… little by little.
So the summary…
Start with low volume.
Build your body slowly.
Then earn the right to train with high volume.
