Arnold and everyone you see in the gym has one ultimate goal: TO HAVE THEIR DREAM PHYSIQUE.
But if you put too much focus on this, it might become a TRAP for you, and there are tons of living proof of this problem.
One of the proof that I was talking about is David Laid, He was a skinny guy that was trying to bulk up and achieve his ‘dream’ physique. And yeah, he starts to putting the work, eat clean, sleep 8 hours a day. And he succeed,He achieved his dream physique.
But guess what? He didn’t like the physique that he really wished 5 years ago. Then from this, the answer is either steroids, you stop working out, or at least you hate the way you look.
Arnold was the living proof of this. The reason Arnold work out is to become Mr. Olympia, which means achieving his ‘DREAM’ physique.
But how can Arnold never fall into this trap? How can Arnold still love training when he’s old, when training doesn’t make his body any better? How did Arnold do this?
Let me tell you how Arnold got into working out.
So one day, his football coach brought him to the gymnasium. When Arnold supposedly trained for football specifically, Arnold strangely fell in love with the barbell. Then after he came home, Arnold bought every magazine that he could buy, and after that he trained often, and he fell in love with training. And then, after that, he has a vision of becoming Mr. Olympia.
Arnold started to workout because he loves working out not because he wants to achieve ‘dream’ physique.
And if you notice, Arnold makes bodybuilding like any other sport. If you like basketball, you’d play basketball even if you’re old and slow, not only in your prime, when you’re strong and fast.
So, even later on, if you’re going old, and working out won’t make any gains, you can still enjoy working out like Arnold.
The simple answer is have a structured workout schedule and routine, and don’t forget to love training hard.
When you have a structured workout schedule, you automatically make working out as a routine.
And making a workout schedule is very easy.
Here’s a fun fact for you… Arnold is ‘addicted’ to the gym because he work his ass of in the gym.
And it’s surprisingly backed by science… Lifting Heavy weight can cause happiness.
So to make workout ‘addictive’, just GO TRAIN HARD.
Throughout this post, I seems kinda trashed the importance of having a ‘DREAM’ physique, but actually I don’t.
I just warn you, that solely motivated by the excitement of achieving your ‘DREAM’ physique is dangerous.
Even Arnold said that the excitement of achieving his ‘DREAM’ physique is so big.
And it’s one of Arnold’s biggest sources of motivation.
And, even Arnold put his ‘DREAM’ physique all over his bedroom, which is his idol’s physique
And actually wanting to have your ‘DREAM’ physique is so important.
But sometimes, it is just a mere motivation that lasts only for 2 – 4 weeks…
