Deadlift will make your back thick!!!

Do you ever see someone that deadlifts heavy but has a small back? No right?

See all powerlifters that deadlift 600+ lbs, and you’ll see a cobra back.

And it’s not only powerlifters that said, “Deadlift will make your back thick.”

Ronnie Coleman always started with heavy deadlifts on his back day. He went up to an 800 lb deadlift… the result? The best back of all time.

“Deadlifts are the king of all exercises.” – Ronnie Coleman.

Not only Ronnie… Everyone that has a great thick wide cobra back does deadlifts (Robby Robinson, Franco Columbu, Lee Haney); everyone did deadlift.

And so if you lack that overall thickness in your back muscles, specifically in the lower back, you better do deadlift.

The deadlift is a very great exercise because of 2 things.

One thing is deadlift work your lower back (that Christmas tree) like no other exercise, and the second thing is deadlift work your whole back isometrically (holding the muscles in the contracted position).

And don’t get this wrong… isometric builds muscle.

And this is not a regular isometric exercise. In a deadlift, your whole back is working so hard to hold the contracted position because there is 500+ lbs PULLING you down!!!.

And also…

When your friends and gym bros ask, “What’s your deadlift?” you can say you deadlift 500 lbs…

And so with deadlift you’ll get 2 things:

  • The thickest back you could ever imagine
  • Strength that you can be proud of.

So, do your deadlift, never skip them!!
